Okay, so when we first launched Opium's QuickFix  iPhone app, we learned all kinds of things, many of which Todd Zuniga explains in this Huffington Post post

So, in the next 24 hours (11 a.m. to 11 a.m.), we're aiming to have as many people possible (though we think we only need 100) to buy our Opium App, and get us into the Books Section's Top 10, which will then mean Opium can do battle against "books" like "Tips  Tricks — iPhone Secrets" (#3) and "Freakish Animals that you never knew existed" (#9).

We'll also be trying to lure App-buyers at tonight's Literary Death Match at Bowery Poetry Club: www.LiteraryDeathMatch.com! And if you're not in NYC, WATCH LIVE FROM YOUR COUCH!

To encourage you, we've just posted the full image featured on Opium9, with the text from Sean Landers painting — a bit of mania that we think will entertain, delight and probably confound.

So please join our cause, and encourage those you know to buy the app. We swear it's good and fun, and we'll feature good and fun content (The New Yorker's Ben Greenman is next-up in fact!).

And the whole "100" idea isn't just about getting into the Top 10, it's also to start spreading further word about Opium100: A Century of Literary Humor.

i attended the literary death match tonight and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. you have a great concept and brilliant execution, with banter, wit, frivolity and intent. it was quite fun participating as a volunteer "presenter". is it possible to see the footage that was taken of the evening to capture this wonderfully pleasant evening?

We do, we do have footage! Now we just need to edit it, and we're all kinds of swamped. Email me: todd@opiummagazine.com, and I can send you a note when its all kinds of ready.
